Journal Entry 4

What I really learned this week in Intro To Entrepreneurship would be mainly from the videos and articles we had to read. I really enjoyed getting information from there. We watched a video called do what you love and I think either in this class or another class, we talked about this concept before. I looooooove this concept, the way everyone should do something they love is so important. If you aren't doing what you love you will get stressed, tired, and bring that into your personal life. I'm not saying you have to always have your dream job because that's not going to happen but enjoy what you're doing to some extent.     Another video we watched was Effective Choices, not longer days. I really liked this one as well because I think so many times in the work field we can overwork ourselves, especially when we first get a job because we want to impress our boss or be perfect at it. But if you make the right choices and take a second to think about it, yo...

Journal Entry 3

Whew. This week I had a lot of homework haha. Less than the other weeks but the assignments are getting a little harder so it felt like more. But this week in Intro to Entrepreneurship I really liked the readings and videos we had to study. The items we needed to read were: "Making a Living and a Life" and "True Blue, Through, and Through." The videos we watched were: "Why are Ethics Important?", "Top 10 Must Have For a Start-Up Transcript", and "Risks in Business." What mainly impacted me and what I want to talk about is the "Making a Living and a Life" article. I really enjoyed the message that came across from that. I think so many people get caught up in money and a career and while that's great whether you're alone, are married, or even have a family, it's never good to get caught up in that and just have a living, you have to LIVE as well. I think sometimes when people are alone they think no yea I don't ...

Journal Entry 2

I think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because he gave people a chance and they gave him a chance. He also never stopped trying, he definitely failed a couple times and got turned down but that didn't stop him. His perspective I think really effected whether or not his dreams came true or not. He didn't look at Disney turning him down as a reason to not do it, he looked at it as an opportunity to try harder and realized that's what he really wanted to do. I feel that dreaming is very important. I think it's a great thing no matter where you're at in life. When I would dream when I was younger whether it was about a boy, becoming a fashion designer, or how many dogs I'm going to have when I grow up, it always made me happy. Dreaming is such a positive thing for everyone. It gives you hope and something to look forward to. The beauty of this life is that it isn't planned out, we all got the gift of agency. We get to decide wh...

Journal Entry 1

I would say that I learned a lot this week. I do not have much business experience and so anything I read is new information. I really liked how there were a lot of different perspectives in each article or video so what I was hearing was not just from one point of view. This week though I really liked that it stressed talking about doing what you love. Over the last year I realized I really want to go into design and construction. So I decided to major in Architecture with a minor in Entrepreneurship. What I want to do when I have enough experience is flip houses and remodel them. I also like the idea of doing that with my husband whenever that happens and so I'm really excited to learn about business concepts and ideas in this class. For awhile I had family members try to convince me to do different jobs because they are high in demand or make great money or are just a safe option. I hated all of their ideas and I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do exactly so I t...
