Journal Entry 1

I would say that I learned a lot this week. I do not have much business experience and so anything I

read is new information. I really liked how there were a lot of different perspectives in each article or

video so what I was hearing was not just from one point of view. This week though I really liked that it

stressed talking about doing what you love.

Over the last year I realized I really want to go into design and construction. So I decided to major in

Architecture with a minor in Entrepreneurship. What I want to do when I have enough experience is flip

houses and remodel them. I also like the idea of doing that with my husband whenever that happens

and so I'm really excited to learn about business concepts and ideas in this class.

For awhile I had family members try to convince me to do different jobs because they are high in

demand or make great money or are just a safe option. I hated all of their ideas and I couldn't figure out

what I wanted to do exactly so I thought I was going to have to settle for a job I didn't like.

But once I realized how much I loved the idea of flipping and remodeling I fell in love. So after hearing

this week about doing what you love and how important that is, I was like yea for sure it would be really

hard to be successful if you aren't enjoying what you're doing. And if you aren't enjoying what you're

doing, that'll definitely carry over into your personal life and nobody wants that. I know too many

people that are in jobs that don’t care about or make them miserable and they take it out on their

family or they just don’t feel successful and nobody deserves the repercussions from that.
